AGENDA & REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The fall meeting is intended to assess the market conditions for the upcoming season while also looking back at the past two years, to understand if we are rebounding, or are we heading for a “double dip”. We’ll talk about how we, as Cen Reses, are projecting our business for the 2010/11 season, what specific actions are being taken and what we’ve learned from the economic struggles of late. We’ll also get a view of the market conditions from other perspectives and learn how other segments of the industry are preparing/counteracting projections for the forthcoming season.
- The Charter Member portion of the meeting begins at 2:00pm on Thursday, September 30th and will be followed by a reception and dinner to which all members are welcome.
- The full member meeting begins at 8:30 am on Friday, October 1st. Workshop details are still evolving but below you will see the high-level topics of the meeting.
- All meetings will be held at the Mountaineer Conference Center at The Lodge at Mountaineer Square in the Grand Ballroom, unless otherwise noted.
Day 1 – Thursday, Sept. 30th: (Charter Members only: 2 pm – 5 pm, All Members: starting at 5 pm)

In addition to the traditional “share and tell” items listed below, please be prepared to report on the following:

Trending of your Cen Res business over the past 2 – 3 years. For example, if you were to display it in a graph, would the trend lines look like an “L”, “V” , “W” or something else.

What you are expecting in terms of business levels this season and how are you preparing/counteracting.

Social/Mobile Media: What is your organization doing to stay on top of this trend and do any responsibilities fall to your Cen Res? If so, what?
Each Cen Res will have about 10 minutes to present. Standard report-out items include:
· Summer 2010 and Winter 2010/11 (based on reservations on the books) and Year-over-Year variances in:
o Phone volume
o Reservations
o Conversion (call center)
o Conversion (online)
o Average $ per sale

An assessment of the broader economy and an industry market update taking a look backward and forward to the 2010/2011 season.

9:45 am: Associate Member Round Table/Presentations
Each Associate Member will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and give a brief synopsis of their outlook at the 2010/11 season from a Cen Res vendor perspective. It should include how they are preparing for the upcoming season and what they think all Cen Reses should be doing in order to be ready for what’s to come. More information will be provided to Associate Members and sponsors via email in preparation for this session.

From a ski resort perspective, what Crested Butte is expecting for the 2010/2011 season, how will it be different from past years and what they are doing to prepare for or counteract their projections.

1:45 pm: The Seven Deadly Sins: Learning from the scars on our back
We’ll discuss the tactics Cen Reses implemented when faced with the past economic crisis and talk about what shouldn’t be repeated if we are headed for another financial downturn.
Moderated by board members Erica Kaehly and Jesse True.

3:00 pm: Teach Back – Take Action
A recap of actionable items that were discussed during the two day meeting that can be brought home to Cen Reses and implemented. This is also an opportunity to brainstorm solutions to some of the dilemmas pondered and give members an opportunity elaborate on hot topics.
3:45 pm: Social/Mobile Media - Cen Res Role
This session will further elaborate (from the Charter Member Round
Table) on the role member Cen Reses are playing in their destination's
social and mobile media initiatives. Moderated by
Scott Donovan.
4:30 pm: Adjournment

Please note that attendance for two people is included in your membership. There is a $100 per person charge for additional attendees. Please note you must be a current paid CRADR member to attend.
LODGING: Hotel rooms are available at The Grand Lodge in Crested Butte, Colorado. Standard King Rooms with one king bed run $95/night and the Emmons Studio Suites with a king bed and king Murphy bed start at $109/night plus taxes and fees. Larger studios, one and two bedroom condos are available at the neighboring Lodge at Mountaineer Square ranging in price from $139/night to $229/night. TRANSPORTATION: Flights are available in to the Gunnison-Crested Butte Airport (about 30 miles from Crested Butte) on United Airlines via Denver International Airport. If you choose to take ground transportation from the airport, it is available through Alpine Express (970-641-5074). Other airports in the vicinity are Montrose (90 miles), Grand Junction (180 miles) and Denver International Airport and Colorado Springs Municipal Airport are about 4 hours away. CBMR Central Reservations also has an air desk that would be happy to assist you in making your transportation reservations and they can be reached at 1-888-443-6715.
